it was grey and rainy, and along the coast we had some of the worst winds i have ever been in.

everything is still so green and wet.

so far it has been sweden's warmest winter in 250 years, and we woke up new year's day to rain instead of snow.
the days are getting longer already and the ten day forecast does not have the temperature falling below freezing even at night.
i wonder if we might skip straight ahead into spring after a few more months like this.
i really hope not.

and now he lives on the other side of the world — it has been more than a year since i last saw him.

it was twilight, purple and violet,

and there was something that made me feel as if wolves would come,

if i waited long enough...

but they didn't, of course.

i found some pigs though - three of them.

they were looking strong and healthy and squealing at me,

in a pen in the middle of all of those birches.

the grasses were bright gold in the sharp low light, and the water was so clear we could see straight through to the stones at the bottom.

we sat on smooth mossy rocks by the lake, with pine needles and oak leaves under our feet, and the sun was strong and warm on our faces.

this saturday the sun was brilliant, and that is a special thing here where it is so much of the time cloudy.

we spent it walking in the forest by the lake and it was the most peaceful and happy day i have had yet in göteborg.
