just after christmas, we took a trip north through bohuslän.
it was grey and rainy, and along the coast we had some of the worst winds i have ever been in.
at one place it was so strong that i could barely walk and couldn't breathe at all.

on my birthday, we went for a long walk in the forest.

a perfectly clear little brook in the woods, next to one of the steepest paths i have ever been on.

everything is still so green and wet.
so far it has been sweden's warmest winter in 250 years, and we woke up new year's day to rain instead of snow.
the days are getting longer already and the ten day forecast does not have the temperature falling below freezing even at night.
i wonder if we might skip straight ahead into spring after a few more months like this.
i really hope not.

a few days after the 25th, we found this adorable little christmas tree growing in the forest.
